Leeds Best Bottles Available at ASDA

Bottles of Leeds Best are now available in selected ASDA stores across Yorkshire.

The brewery’s classic Yorkshire bitter is 4.3% and uses entirely British ingredients to create a full flavoured beer with a great hoppy finish. It can be found on the shelves of Leeds stores including Adel and Pudsey, as well as in other local ASDA stores including York, Harrogate, Wakefield, and Huddersfield.

‘It’s great to have Leeds Best available in bottles’, said Head Brewer Venkatesh Iyer. ‘It has always been very popular in cask and we are extremly pleased with the final result and flavour characteristics of the bottles, it’s a really good match with the draught product’.

The listing marks a return to bottling for Leeds Brewery following further expansion at the Holbeck based site leading to increased capacity and the ability to add bottled products to its range of cask beers and lager.

Leodis Lager Launched

Leeds Brewery has released its new lager Leodis.

Leodis, the Roman name for Leeds, is a crisp, dry, refreshing lager which has been traditionally brewed using bottom fermentation before being conditioned for four weeks and kegged.

The beer is 4.6% ABV and uses German grown Hallertauer Mittlefrauh and Slovenian grown Celeia hops which give it a delicate floral aroma and flavour.

Leodis is currently available in all Leeds Brewey pubs and makes the brewery one of only a handful of independent producers in the country to brew a genuine kegged lager product.

Leeds Brewery link up with Hunslet Hawks

Leeds Brewery have signed a deal to sponsor local rugby league team Hunslet Hawks for the 2012 season.

The sponsorship kicked off with the ‘Leeds Brewery Lazenby Cup’ pre season fixture between the Hawks and Leeds Rhinos at the South Leeds Stadium and will also see the brewery logo appear on both home and away shirts during the up coming campaign.

Brewery director Sam Moss commented; ‘It is great to be able to get involved with an historic local team at the heart of the Hunslet community. Hopefully this is the beginning of a long and succesful partnership’.

The sponsorship deal will also see a closer tie between the Hawks and Leeds Brewery’s Grade II* listed Hunslet pub The Garden Gate, which was saved from closure when the brewery purchased it in 2010.
